Downie for MAC

Download videos from YouTube, Vimeo and 1,000+ sites on your Mac, up to 4K. Paid app with a free trial.

Downie Overview

Downie downloads videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion and more than a thousand other websites, in up to 4K resolution. Paste a link or click the browser extension, and Downie saves the video, or converts it to MP4 for your iPhone or iPad, or extracts only the audio. For sites it does not support directly, its built-in browser lets you open the page and grab the video yourself. Downie is made by Charlie Monroe Software.

Downie is a paid app: the download is the full version with a free trial, and you buy a permanent license to keep using it. It is also part of the Setapp subscription. Downie 4 needs macOS 13 or later, and the developer recommends macOS 15 or later. Updates arrive every week or two, adding new sites and fixing ones that changed.
